Dr Douglas Vincent B.D.S (London) - Principal.
Dr Vincent qualified at the London Hospital in 1977 and has been in full time practice ever since. He is a member of the British Dental Association. He regularly attends courses and seminars on all aspects of dental care and the latest advances in dentistry. His particular interests are in cosmetic dentistry but he enjoys all aspects of dental care. He had a very successful practice for many years in Milton Road, Cambridge which he sold in 2001 to allow him to concentrate his efforts in his Ely practice which was originally sited in the Mews, but now relocated to Newnham St, Ely. Many of his patients in Cambridge have followed him to Ely.
He was unconvinced about the wisdom of using amalgam-filling material (metal fillings made up of a mixture of silver, copper, tin, zinc and worryingly approximately 50% mercury) for some time. After researching the effects of mercury on the body and having treated first hand a patient with extreme mercury toxicity related health problems, who recovered remarkably, he decided that for the overall health of his patients he would only restore teeth with non-mercury materials.

Mrs Debbie George Hygienist RDH.
Debbie qualified at Liverpool dental hospital in 1985 and has had over 20 years experience in a variety of dental environments, including working in an orthodontic clinic, general dental practice and a unit for severely disabled adults. She took a degree in 1984 in Health Studies where she undertook research into the dental phobic patient. This has given her a valuable insight regarding nervous patients and she feels she is a better clinician for it. She regularly attends scientific meetings and courses that she feels benefit herself and the care of her patients.

Mrs Caroline Dann.
Caroline is an invaluable member of staff. She ensures the smooth running of the practice from every aspect, both behind the scene and in front of the desk.

Mrs Carol Vincent.
As the name suggests, Carol is Dr Vincent's wife. After raising the family she stepped into helping with the smooth running of the practice. She is a friendly face on reception, always willing to accommodate patients wherever possible. Within the busy schedule of the practice, she will personally set time aside to speak to patients who are particularly concerned about their health regarding the amalgam issue.

Miss Gillian Gibbs Receptionist/Dental Surgery Assistant.
Gillian is often the voice at the end of the phone assisting patients with booking appointments. Being an experienced nurse she can often answer their queries regarding their treatment. Gillian is also well known to our patients having worked for Newnham Dental Practice for the last 6 years.

Mrs Jeanette Stebbeds Dental Surgery Assistant.
Jeanette is an extremely experienced and efficient dental nurse. She has been a familiar friendly face in the practice for the last 19 years; patients are always pleased to see her assisting in the surgery.
